ACC welcomes
Graham and Dory Hutchins!
November 13, 2005

Welcome Dory and Graham!

FCM. Or is it MSF?

ACC has, from its beginning, been a member led congregation with no pastor. And that has been by design. The membership has included pastors, and lay people and pastors have shared leadership on council and committees. But there has never been one individual pastor who led the congregation. Preaching and worhip leadership have always been shared by all members.

That is not changing. However, with the growth of the congregation, it has been realized that we really do need someone who can help us organize and do ministry more effectively.

So the congregation set out to find someone who would be called Facilitator of Congregational Ministries. Or Ministries and Support Facilitator, depending upon which part of the posted Job Description you look at.

After much praying and hunting and waiting, we are pleased to announce that Graham Hutchins, a retired Methodist pastor, has come to us from the United States of America to fill that role. He is accompanied by his wife Dory.

The service of installation was held on Sunday, 13 November. And in the pictures at the right, you can see that it was a festive day! We were especially pleased that Rev. Kimirei of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania could be with us to do the installation on behalf of the congregation.

In the right hand column, along with pictures of our musicians (thank you, thank you!), you can see John Kraft, who led the service, Sr. Sheila Devane who read the lessons, Dr. Mark Jacobson who preached, and Revs. Kimirei and Hutchins.

And of course Dory and Graham above.

Graham and Dory, welcome to ACC. We look forward to getting to know more about you in weeks to come!
